My Boss is Harassing Clients and Employees
Dear Robin:
I work in a small law firm and I’ve only been here a short time but I already hate it. My only question for you is: do I have a whistleblower claim?
The boss is totally out of line all the time and I think she is harassing both employees and clients. Can I quit and get unemployment?
Scared but Broke
Empty Threats or Something More?
Dear Readers:
I recently received a follow-up email from someone who wrote to me in July. Here is what it said:
“Well, it happened again. Last night he told me I don’t make him happy but he couldn’t give me any specifics on what I can do to make him happy. He apologized very nicely this morning and explained he’s under a lot of stress but so am I. Does this change your earlier advice?”
Confrontation v. Conversation
Dear Robin:
I have worked with “Blaire” for nearly six months since she arrived at my company where I’ve worked since 2005. In that short time she has done several sneaky things to undermine me with my boss and co-workers.
Her efforts tend to be clumsy and fail but she has yet to be fired and I’m worried one of these days she may succeed in making me look bad. Clearly she is angling for my job but she’s much younger and does not have the requisite experience.
